Okay, this might be a novel, so sorry in advance.
My two friends recently (last year in April and July) purchased horses. They've been riding for five years. I've been riding for seven. I love them, but sometimes I want to give them a good SMACK!
They both have thoroughbreds. Now, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with thoroughbreds. But, both of these horses are off the track and under seven. They only ride them three times a week. They aren't kept in a stall so they can burn energy, but I live in Canada. We have cold winters. There's alot of ice so they can't really burn energy. I think they should be ridden more than three times a week.
Both of these girls claim that one of them (Tanaya) is the best rider around. They say this right infront of my face! They have both seen me ride. I have competed against them in equitation classes and I have BEATEN them! They still think they are better because they own horses.
They used to volunteer at the barn they rode at so they'd rub that in my face. I rode at least twice a week before I leased morgan. Then one of them (Tanaya) says "I think I'm a better rider because I've ridden more than one horse." I've ridden my fair share. Trust me I help my trainer with the horses she rides, I help her with the difficult horses. Also, I was supposed to lease Morgan earlier than I did, but because of university changes, injuries and so on so forth I haven't. Then I was telling Tanaya I was finally going to lease Morgan and she was all like, "Don't get your hopes up." (Not in the sympathetic polite way either).
She came out to watch a lesson of mine and my trainer offered to let her work a horse for her. Lorraine, my trainer, knew that Tanaya owned a horse, so she offered. Tanaya refused. At school the next day, tanaya was like, "I'm suprised your trainer would let just anyone ride her horses. My trainer would NEVER!" She always brags about how high she jumps. "My horse can't even jump 2'3" anymore because it's too small! It has to be at least 3'0"!" She says this because Morgan can only jump 2'6" with his leg injuries. Although I have jumped higher than her. I've jumped 4'6"
So sorry for the novel!!!! I had to let it all out!!!!! She is a total cow about horses and she's one of those people who believe that if you even smack your horse on the arse with your hand your "abusing" it (Don't worry I'm totally against slaughter and animal abuse). She also thinks push-button horses are bad. And that all the horses I ride are push-button. I was like yeah, you try getting on Sally (a green clydsdale mare) and jumping her over eight fences! Again, sorry about the novel!
